Our schools are full of daily events, activities, and learning experiences that often go unnoticed in the larger school community, but are part of what connects students to their classmates, staff, schools, and community. At every Board meeting, I highlight a few examples from each of our four schools in order to provide a glimpse into some of the incredible opportunities our schools provide to our students in expanding our mission. Recent highlights include the annual 6th grade egg drop; GMS teacher Pam Moore teaching about proportionality; MIW teacher Kathryn Begos engaging her students with literacy activities; GHS choral director Sarah Bailey arranging for her students to sing the national anthem at a Sea Dogs game; GMS science teachers Jacey Morrill and Robin Tiller helping their student launch rockets; the GHS Kyle Cares club bringing awareness to suicide prevention; and so much more.
