It's homecoming week at GHS. And you know what that means… students are going all out to show their school spirit!

Fourth grade students enjoyed their walking field trip to Cumberland Town Hall to meet town employees and learn about local government, which connects to our October SEL theme of Citizenship!

5th graders are working together to save “Beachtown” from a hurricane. They are considering seawalls, levees, wetlands, and putting buildings up on stilts as potential solutions.

Don't miss the 5th-grade art display at the Cumberland Fair! Students in Mrs. Provencher's class learned about layers and texture to create these fun "Farm Face Collages." Using torn paper for a colorful background, oil pastels for expressive faces, and acrylics for fluffy fur or feathers, each animal has its own personality. What animals do you see? Yesterday was the first annual "Rangers Meet in the Middle" event where the GHS senior class met MIW kindergarteners in the middle of the field to officially welcome them to MSAD #51.

On September 17, 1787, the Founders signed the US Constitution in Philadelphia, establishing the United States of America and thus a grand experiment in democratic governance. Federal law requires all public schools that receive federal funds to teach age-appropriate material related to the Constitution during the week that includes September 17.
