Congratulations to our PATHS Career and Technical Education student of the year, Isaiah Merrill from Greely High School Isaiah is currently a second year carpentry student here at PATHS. He is at the top of his class for his work ethic, which has fostered considerable knowledge and skills as a carpenter. Isaiah has completed nearly three years of curriculum in just two years. Furthermore at the completion of the school year, Isaiah will receive up to seven advanced college credits from Eastern Maine Community College and three certifications in carpentry. Isaiah comes to school every day with a plan for his work, and always accomplishes that plan with precision and accuracy. As everyone at PATHS knows, an important aspect of any successful professional is good attendance at work. He rarely misses any time at PATHS and when he does he makes up his work immediately. Isaiah has volunteered on two different occasions with Habitat for Humanity and they are always thrilled with the work that he does and the accuracy of his construction. Always a team player, he is quick to drop what he is doing to help complete a “rush job” for an unannounced client. Upon graduation from Greely High School, he will enlist in the United States Army. The staff at PATHS is proud of Isaiah and all he has achieved during his time here in the carpentry program. Isaiah is the son of Greg and Elizabeth Merrill, two very proud parents. -Rebecca Davis Portland Arts & Technology High School Student Services |
