September 2012 Spotlight
New Teachers 2012

We welcome MSAD 51’s new staff for the 2012-2013 school year! We are joined by many new educators. New to our faculty at Mabel I. Wilson school are third grade teachers Valerie Dominski and Tatum Frederick. Kimberly Close will be teaching special education, and Janet Anderson will work as the school’s literacy coach. Kathleen Stawarz replaces retiring Kathy Locker as Mabel I. Wilson’s social worker.

At Greely Middle School, Kerry Ellen Avery will be teaching 8th grade math and Katherine Murphy will be teaching 8th grade science. Benjamin Caswell will be teaching physical education and Rebecca Keith will be teaching STEM, a new program integrating science, technology, engineering and math. Heather Meehan joins Greely Middle School as a special education teacher, while Tiffany McPhetres will be a school social worker. Penny Wheeler-Abbott retired from the district after twelve years as Assistant Principal, and will be replaced by Ken Marks, former math teacher, assistant athletic director and basketball coach.

Greely High School welcomes new math teachers Brian Freccero, Erin Pollock and Jason Phelps. Dina Lattanzi will teach English. Patti Jokiel joins the high school as a behavior strategist and Brianna Robbins will be the new speech and language clinician. Heather Perkinson will be Greely High School’s new librarian and media specialist.

We are enthused about the experience and energy our new staff brings to the district and look forward to a productive and successful school year ahead.
