Sarah Higgins, a senior at Greely High School, recently brought to light how learning and growing can be achieved beyond the classroom at GHS

In an eloquent presentation to the School Board, Sarah spoke about her experience as being a member of Greely’s first MPA sanctioned Varsity Unified Basketball Team. She stated that she had never been on a sports team at Greely and she couldn’t have imagined a better experience. She found that being a part of the Unified Team changed her life: she is happier, her grades are better, and she feels more successful. All key factors in having a positive high school experience and preparing for life long learning.

Sarah also competed in the Cumberland/North Yarmouth Lions Club Speak Out competition at the end of March. She took home 3rd place!

Looking to the future, Sarah hopes to come back to Greely next year and help coach the 2015-2016 Unified Basketball Team!  More Spotlights...
