We welcome three new members to MSAD #51’s Board of Directors from Cumberland: Karen Campbell, Bethany Hanley and Gigi Sanchez. Virginia Dwyer will return as the representative from North Yarmouth for her third term. We would also like to share the results of the four ballot questions relating to our schools: North Yarmouth Memorial School Closure The Town of Cumberland supported closing North Yarmouth Memorial School by a vote of 559 (70.23%) to 237 (29.77%). The Town of North Yarmouth opposed closure by a vote of 302 (52.98%) to 268 (47.02%). Districtwide, 734 voters (53.77%) supported the bond while 631 voters (46.23%) opposed it. School Budget MSAD #51’s budget for FY 2013-2104 passed by a vote of 829 (61.14%) to 527 (38.86%). Budget Validation On the question of whether MSAD #51 should continue the Budget Validation Referendum for the next three years, voters supported maintaining the current practice by a margin of 955 (71%) to 390 (29%).
