Introduction to Competitive Swimming

Grades 6-8

Seacoast Swim Club is offering a new program for middle school aged

students to introduce them to competitive swimming.  The goal is to introduce new swimmers to the sport and let them swim in the pool with their own age group.

This session will run from November 23rd through February 20th.  Practices will be held on Tuesdays and  Thursdays from 4:30-5:30pm and on Saturdays from 4-5pm.   The cost will be $223 plus a $65 fee to join Maine Swimming.

Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool freestyle and

return doing backstroke in order to qualify for the program.  They must

also demonstrate an understanding of rhythmic breathing.  Coaches

will evaluate all interested swimmers.  Evaluations are scheduled for November 6th.

We only have ten slots available for this new program and encourage

anyone who is interested to contact our Team Administrator, Karen

Rawnsley at sscmaine@gmail.com for more information.

Seacoast Swim Club is a co-ed team established in 1973 for the purpose of introducing competitive swimming to local school age children. Seacoast continues to develop and inspire swimmers under Coaches AJ Rog,  David Tauwala, Fran Martelle and Brenda Bacall.  All of our coaches, as members of USA Swimming, have access to a comprehensive training and certification program.
