Out of State Travel InformationFamilies who are choosing to travel outside the state of Maine to non exempt states should keep in mind that they will need to quarantine for 14 days or, in order to forgo the quarantine requirement, they can receive a negative Covid-19 test from a specimen taken no longer than 72 hours prior to arrival in Maine. As of 11/4/20, the following states are exempt from the need to quarantine due to the similar prevalence of Covid-19 to the state of Maine: New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. (NOTE: The exemption for Connecticut, New York and New Jersey ended Nov. 4, 2020) It also applies for day trips (e.g., a trip from Maine to Rhode Island for medical appointments or shopping). The letter stated that "If school buildings are closed, meals will be served in the MIW bus circle between 10:00am-12:00pm." CORRECTION: If school buildings are closed, there will be NO meal served on that day. Additionally, for those who are interested, we are now providing shelf-stable meals for pick up 10:00-11:00am daily beginning November 2. We recommend picking up two days worth of meals in case of a big storm. If you cannot pick up at the bus circle and would like meals for storm days, email Jon Carlson and we will send home with your student. Any questions please email jcarlson@msad51.org or call 829-4824. Stay ConnectedSubscribe to our District's weekly newsletter by clicking here.
