Foundation 51 – Why not you?

posted Apr 7, 2016, 7:06 AM by Tammy Tarling

Foundation 51 is looking for a few talented and conscientious volunteer committee and board members to help lead and strengthen our nonprofit organization.

Foundation 51 has been providing independent funding to promote innovative student development in MSAD51 schools for over 17 years, funding over $500,000 in grant money! Want to make a difference, work with other committed board members, and help organize and attend special fundraising events?

Foundation 51 maintains an endowment that is an incredible resource for our community. We have been able to achieve this only with the support of our generous and supportive community. We need individuals to take responsibility for the health and management of this incredible resource.

We strive to maintain a board of 12 individuals. A large board affords flexibility to our board members. You can choose to contribute in a manner that works for you. We have a variety of needs and they all require a different skill set, personality and availability.

We have 9 monthly meetings during the school year held on the first Tuesday of the month. During these meetings we discuss direction, our impact and the administration of the Foundation.

We also need volunteers & committee members…

We are looking for individuals to lend a hand on a committee. We are looking for individuals to assist us with all aspects of event planning.  We have two fundraising events, the Fall Fling and our Spelling Bee in the spring. We need administrative planners, decorators, solicitors & marketers. There is an incredible amount of flexibility making it possible for anyone to contribute their time.

If you can contribute just a little of your time, thoughtfulness, and leadership one evening a month during the school year, and are interested in exploring this opportunity, contact us at anne@foundation51.org.
