Skyline Farm's Sleigh Day, Feb. 9

NORTH YARMOUTH – Skyline Farm, 95 The Lane, North Yarmouth, will hold its 20th annual Sleigh Day from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, in conjunction with Skyline Farm Carriage Museum’s new exhibit “Sleighing - Fashionable, Fun and Family.” Free admission. Please dress warmly.

 

Starting at noon, Ben Lapointe and his pair of miniature horses will give mini sleigh rides for children up to age 12; $5 donation per child. Also a team of draft horses from Hideaway Farm of Topsham will provide sleigh rides around the field for an $8 donation per person or $25 per family.

 

Hot refreshments will be sold in the heated Visitor Center.

 

At 12:30 p.m. there will be a narrated demonstration of horses and drivers using 19th century skills and vintage sleighs in the outdoor arena.

 

Bring your snowshoes for a 2 p.m. guided tour of Skyline’s trails through the woods.

 

The museum exhibit, featuring a variety of rare sleighs and wheeled vehicles is also open Sundays, Feb. 10 through March 31, from 1-4 p.m. or by appointment.
